Over 50 refurbished toys donated to local children’s centre

Turn Around Toys has made a generous donation of 52 refurbished toys, weighing a total of 24.8 kg, to Greenmead Children’s Centre in Thamesmead.

These toys will be distributed to families in need through the centre’s monthly ‘Baby Bank’ events, ensuring that local children have access to much-needed play and educational items.

The Baby Bank event, held at Greenmead Children’s Centre on Lime Row, Thamesmead DA18 4HW, provides an essential service to families on low incomes by offering ‘pre-loved’ baby and toddler clothes and equipment for free. This initiative not only supports families in need but also promotes sustainability by encouraging the reuse of items that might otherwise end up in landfills.

Families interested in receiving free toys, clothing, and equipment are encouraged to attend the Baby Bank event, which takes place from 9.30am to 11.30am on the last Wednesday of each month.

By partnering with Bexley’s Children’s Centres, Turn Around Toys aims to directly reach local families, ensuring that their refurbished toys are distributed to those who need them most. This collaboration highlights Turn Around Toy’s commitment to both community support and environmental sustainability.

“Turn Around Toys is dedicated to reducing the number of toys going to landfill by refurbishing unwanted and broken toys and donating them to local families and organisations in need,” said Natalie Detnon, Director at Turn Around Toys. “I am proud to support Greenmead Children’s Centre and help bring joy to children and families in our community.”
